Perfect replacement OE

This is a very quick replacement and a perfect replacement. I'll update if there are any durability issues, but so far it's been worth it.

Pros
  • Meets or exceeds OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)
Cons
  • Negative impression

Good part, suitable for starters and replacement parts

Fairly quick and easy installation; did this an hour after work in the parking lot. Maintains the same belt tension and runs quieter compared to the factory product.

Pros
  • Less belt slippage and squeaking
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Works like the original

Works like the original which was removed from my 1996 Mustang Cobra. I first tried a Gates replacement but it was a different style and didn't match the bracket holding the coil pack and EGR valve. This one was the right size (original flat spring type).

Pros
  • Stronger construction and anti-corrosion seals
Cons
  • Can't remember

There is no belt chirp. Now in the Starter and Parts section

When I heard the chirping of the V-ribbed belt, I decided to replace the tensioner and tensioner block. As the belt is less than 3 years old it should be fine. During installation I noticed that the old original tension spring was weak and caused the belt to come off the air conditioning compressor drive. This damaged the belt so I replaced it as well. The new tensioner is much stronger.

Pros
  • The leaf spring designed for constant tension
Cons
  • disappears
