broke when releasing the tension to install the belt.

When moving the tensioner to install the belt, the tensioner broke. I kept the pulley and bearing and used them to repair my old OE.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • update available

Calm. Effective. best belt tensioner

Replaced a noisy pulley on my 255k 2003 Honda Pilot. Works perfectly. Nice and quiet. BE VERY CAREFUL when removing/replacing the screws that hold it in place. They are very fragile.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Some minor things

Update: 10 month old broken pulley.

Update: 4/3/2020 I'm upgrading this to 1 star. The part was installed for about 10 months and about 8500 miles. The roll made a very loud fluttering noise and swayed back and forth. I checked that the screw was secure and it was. I removed the pulley and found the bearing was worn. The good news is that the rest of the tensioner was in good condition. I only ordered a new pulley from Dorman as it was delivered within 2 hours. The new pulley doesn't wobble and the noise is gone. The value below…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
