Easy installation, no need to remove brackets. Simply use side cutters to cut through the standard rubber and then the plastic pins. There's steel in the middle, you don't have to cut it. It took every 10 minutes. You are heavy! Now it takes a lot more force to close the hood. The milky red pairs well with 2013's Rock Lobster red-orange-pink. Compared to a true bright red, this may not be what you're looking for.

Wow. That's all I can say. They are definitely doing what they have to do. God help the person who has to unlock and snatch them back at any time. Installation was pretty easy. It took a little effort to cut/break the factory pins. But the reinstallation worked very well. Until I tried to close them. I'm a big boy, I needed everything to align and fix them. Don't get me wrong that's why I'm giving them 5 stars but be prepared to work hard. I highly recommend it.

My new 2014 JK Rubicon came with bonnet flapping (it's not a bug, it's a feature!). Faults: - stupidly easy to fit - completely cured my hood of flapping - if it's cold when fitting, keep it in a shirt or inside to warm until you're ready to put it on. I have no problem applying them myself once installed and I have tiny weak female hands and arms - the red color is a bit milky and almost translucent.

It's amazing and it's super tight! To be safe, I used a hood lock with a deadbolt. Installation: I didn't have a vise so I used a flat head screwdriver, wire cutters and a rubber mallet. removed, I pushed in the center until the plastic bolt broke and pryed slightly until the bolt popped out on one side. Installed a set of these improved latches on my JKU in May 2019. Hood chatter was greatly reduced and it looked nice with the other red accents on my Jeep. Today when driving on the Autobahn, the locking strip on the driver's side broke into two parts. We were able to get to the curb quickly and find an OEM style replacement at a local parts store so we could continue our drive home.
