The deeper ones tend to come loose every time I connect the mount to the water. After several hours of trying and swapping places for a lower mount I decided to just use a seat belt and let it float, it worked for my boat

I haven't had much luck with the self adjusting float section of this mount. It seems that when it's not perfectly in the water, its range of change is almost non-existent. It holds the sonar perfectly and attaches perfectly to my boat. I just wish the float arm worked a lot better.

Much better than expected. And for some of the lost-it-all reviewers, does common sense tell you not to clip your seat belt to the yoke? Like climbing and binding to yourself. Try a boat or kayak. Also not sure if it says so in the description but it comes with a t-nut for kayaks with rails installed. Amazing little feature.

If you can't find a suitable place to mount the boom vertically, it's practically useless. In addition, the size of the screw clamp makes it difficult to mount in hard-to-reach places. I ended up dropping the arm and just dragging the sonar on a string next to the boat. Unfortunately, if I ever get to use my hand, I'll have to quickly build a mounting surface for it. I use this mount on my kayak to keep the depth at the right level. It does everything it's supposed to do. I would leave five stars if the mount had a better way to mount on the kayak's softer surface. The strength of the flex arm is very strong (which is good), but it's so strong that I'm worried about how much pressure it's putting on the kayak. I'd like to see a plate or other method of spreading the pressure over a large area. On a more traditional boat, the mount will likely work…

I use Deeper on a small boat on small lakes. The first dozen times I used my Deeper I used an extra rod and pulled the Deeper down the side of the boat. At a certain speed the deeper it goes the more it tilts and resets unless I actually dip the rod tip in the water about a foot. I've used this Deeper mount a few times and my mapping results and underwater visibility have greatly improved. The bracket ensures that the Deeper stays in the water (is that a word?). I used this on my new Deeper Pro+. The arm is firm and flexible. However, the float mount is so-so. The tip of the male screw on the end of the flex mount was less than 1/4" long. I had to constantly tighten the float mount. The DP+ has (3) female thread holes. The float mount has (1) male threads. , and a plastic plug.
