I bought these to ceiling mount my Definitive Technology ProMonitor 1000 speakers. I got the impression that this wouldn't be a problem as there is a keyhole insert at the top of the speakers. However, the only way to install them is to use the screw hole on the bottom of the speaker. If you're mounting on a wall this isn't a problem, but from the ceiling it means you have to mount upside down. I purposely bought mounts from Definitive Technology to avoid a headache, but it didn't help. The Definitive Technology ProMonitor 1000 speakers are quite heavy and these mounts are NOT really up to the task. I ripped out the drywall screw first - partly my fault, but the torque required to adequately tighten the fastener is significant, so you need VERY strong screws. I bought these to wall mount a pair of SONOS PLAY:1 Compact Wireless Music Streaming Speakers - (White). They were cheaper than most other mounting options and received decent reviews. However, I would happily spend the extra money on a more flexible mounting solution. Although the description lists a select group of speakers this mount will work with, it will actually work with "any" speakers that weigh less than 10 pounds and also have a 1/4x20 bolt hole on the have back.
