Installed a B-8P in a 1991 VW Convertible and it works great to add bass to an existing Kenwood stereo. Crutchfield recommends a 12-gauge wiring kit, and Revain indicates that 8-gauge was the most commonly purchased with this powered subwoofer. I hit the sweet spot and bought the BOSS 10 kit and had everything I needed to complete the install. You may need several smaller terminations for the ground wire and blue enable wire.

For an 8" powered subwoofer, it packs a punch. Fill in the missing low frequencies in any system. Currently installed in a 99 Pontiac GP and fills out the low frequencies well. I had to invert the signal to avoid dirty low frequencies, but a tuned one works very well. If you don't have a volume control on your stereo, it's a good idea to use a remote control for the subwoofer, as it can overwhelm the mids quite a bit. Maybe with the next model.

This thing is amazing! More than his looks. While it won't clear the asphalt from the pavement, it will definitely fill the low frequencies with a balanced bass. I am very happy with this purchase. I wanted to add a low level to my system. This added enough power to help me pick up some of the lower frequencies. It doesn't have deep lows, but that helped a lot. The audio crossovers in my Pioneer deck really made the soundstage work. Plugged into a new Kenwood head unit and almost no bass from the RCA pre-ins to the sub! Literally no bass, no more bass than a regular small speaker.
