Description of πŸŽ™οΈ Deity S-Mic 2S: Ultra Low-Off Axis Coloration Shotgun Microphone with Weather Resistance, RF-Interference Proof, and Lightweight Design

Upgraded from Deity S-mic 2, the Deity S-Mic 2 is a professional shotgun mic features a shorter, lighter body with a slightly wider pickup pattern for multi-talent scenes. This makes it the S-Mic 2S perfect for things like reality TV crews, indoor sit down interviews, and indy filmmaking. The Deity S-Mic 2S features a super cardioid pickup pattern which minimizes surrounding ambient sounds but still offers low off-axis coloration, lets you capture natural-sounding speech and dialog without any distractions. Designed to hold up to the brutality of run-and-gun-style shoots, the Deity S-Mic 2's body is machined from 100% solid brass and features a epoxy sealed gold-coated PCB board and a moisture-resistant capsule. The S-Mic 2S is as light as other industry standard mics used on film sets. Coming in at a mere 3 ounces, you might forget you have a microphone on the end of your boom pole. All Deity S-Mic 2S come with a waterproof, shockproof hard case to keep your microphone safe during storage or travel. Also included with ever purchase is a mic clip and a foam windscreen.

Short shotgun close to the sound of 416!

I'm a sound engineer and now I'm adding this as my main microphone as it has the same sound quality as the Sennheiser 416 but with a smaller profile. Easy to combine with my MKH 50.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Functionality

It is amazing, simple and clear

The deity confuses him. Good sound. I have paired with Tascam dr-60d mrkII. Remember that microphones are like lenses and you should use what you need for the job. The Deity s-mic 2s works great indoors and I would choose a mic for that environment. Outdoors and when additional mic placement is needed, you will need a longer shotgun mic.

Pros
  • Sturdy design
Cons
  • The cord is shorter than other pickaxes

Buy a clip for it. The one included in the kit is not suitable.

Be sure to order a clip. I have a brand new microphone that I can't install. The included clamp has an adapter sleeve that is basically spot welded and cannot be removed unless you have a drill or something to drill out. I'll have to tape this new mic up until I can order a clamp and wait for it to arrive. I've never had a clip that came so tight with an adapter.

  • Condenser Microphones

  • Useless Functions

On camera or on a pole

I love this little shotgun! I don't have a quality preamp to get the most out of the low self-noise, but I get full range and great tones. In the future when I have a better preamp and audio assistant I will use it. But now I use it run and gun style on a camera mic with a small $25 preamp plugged into my camera. The preamp has a gain control and I use rechargeable lithium ion batteries so this setup gives me possibly the best sound quality of any mic on a camera with pretty much all the same…

Pros
  • Microphones and accessories
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Great mic if your needs are diverse!

I am very happy with this microphone, my voice has never sounded better! My work combines indoor and outdoor work and I don't have the money to buy dedicated microphones for each environment. I decided on a short shotgun and after purchasing this and using it for both outdoor running and indoor scoring in a less than optimal studio, I'm confident I made the right decision. more effective noise cancellation than a long-barreled shotgun, which is to be expected. However, when I'm close indoors, I

Fool me once, fool me twice

I was trying to get into the deity mic truck. I really did. I've spent hours watching reviews and comparison videos on YouTube on how good these gun mics are, especially for the money. I then initially ordered a Deity S-Mic 2S (the shorter of the two Deity S-Mic series). It came with a broken microphone stand mount. Okay, not that much, but I still have five bucks to spend. I also found the microphone to be loud. Thinking I might have gotten a bad one, I ordered and tried out a Deity S-Mic 2…

Pros
  • Multipurpose
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
