This well designed fan is a really good product. (My second Delta exhaust fan). They considered the installation process for retrofitting in an existing house. They designed it so you don't have to climb the attic or install it in place. There's a catch though - it requires 4 separate switches, which isn't very convenient for an upgrade. I have replaced our 30 year old bathroom fan with a SIG80-110MH and am still very happy with it. I installed the fan myself, it took about 3 hours. This fan was a few inches larger than our old one, so I had to cut a larger square into our ceiling. I had access to the attic which made the job a little easier.
