Top quality and value for money

Bought this kettle a while ago and it still looks like new. We use vinegar to dissolve limescale every few months and the kettle holds plenty of water for when you need it. Excellent quality and good looks.

Beautiful teapot suitable for teapots

The teapot is very beautiful! Heats up quickly and efficiently. Craftsmanship quality. Comfortable and pleasant to pour (handle stays cool). The whistle is loud and easy to remove. I am very happy with the investment I made when I bought it.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Damaged

Very poor kettle - cookware

I washed the kettle with cleaning soap before use. However, this was useless; it continued to give off an awful smell as the water boiled. I rinsed the kettle again with vinegar and boiled water with a few drops of vinegar in it. Still useless! Absolutely no purchase recommendation!

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Not as good as it says

High quality but awkward to use

This is a very high quality kettle but there are two reasons I only give it 3 stars: The handle gets too hot to use without an oven handle. Glove or rag - you need to remove the "pipe" to pour. This means that when the water is ready, you must first find an oven mitt, then remove the whistle, and then pour the water. And you also have to return the whistle when you're done. Nothing bad, but not as practical as we'd like.

  • Finally got it

Excellent quality product

This is the best kettle I have seen on the market. Thick, durable surgical grade stainless steel, impressive encapsulated base for induction cooking (I personally use it on a gas range). Excellent workmanship. You get a 30-year guarantee for private use (10 years for commercial use). I don't know what such a guarantee actually means. but for me it definitely means that it will probably be the only utensil that can be passed on to the next generations as a valuable family heirloom. It is soโ€ฆ

Very nice whistling teapot

My mother used to have a teapot like this but due to overuse it had to be thrown away. So I ordered this as a replacement. I love it. Very stylish, nice design, holds more than enough water and does exactly what it says on the tin. I think some people expect the train whistle to blow when their water is ready, which is why you see bad reviews so often. That will not do. This kettle's whistle is perfectly audible and does the job. I can hear it further down the hall but obviously not when otherโ€ฆ

3.5 years later I still love it

I bought this kettle three and a half years ago after extensive research looking for a kettle that doesn't leach metals into my water or make it agitated - foil inside. With a history of cancer this was an absolute requirement. As I browsed site after site, I found Demeyer. After reading about the company's history and technological advances, I was impressed. I make tea every day, sometimes twice a day for my husband and I, and to this day everything in it is as clean and shiny as the firstโ€ฆ

Excellent teapot but didn't even last ten years

I found my teapot! I've forgotten the name of the brand forever, but I bought this particular one in Sur la table in 2004. This is a great kettle and after six years of heavy use either mineral deposits or something in chunks (!) like flakes of dried paint began to flow out of it. But that's after six full years of serious operation. Also, it's faded and beyond repair. Still looks good just can't polish it to new condition. The kitchen looks great modern and classic.
