Very good cartridge

This is my first Denon cartridge and I am glad I chose this particular model. The price was right and the amount of detail and tracking level is very, very good, and for the price I bought it for (it was about $80 off the regular price) it's outrageous . The setup was simple and the look is also quite appealing. It seems to heat up most recordings and I don't get as much surface noise as I do with more expensive cassettes. No complaints as I don't have RCM so I only have a limited number ofโ€ฆ

Great Price - Electronic Music, DJ & Karaoke

Amazing sounding cartridge. I'm using a Dl-301 II with a Denon PRA-1500 preamp with an MC phono stage input setup that matches the cartridge well at the recommended 100 ohm load and using an additional FET differential front end. Thanks to the equally well designed MC phono stage, no step-up transformer should be needed with this pickup. I also have a Denon DL-110 High Output MC head, which also sounds great, but in comparison the first thing I noticed about the DL-301 is the incredibly higherโ€ฆ

I couldn't get the Dynavector to sound good on the Technics table

I've had this cassette for about two weeks now and all I can say is wow! I have a modified KAB Technics 1200 MK2. It has a liquid damper, rewired tonearm, new RCAs and flash lockout. I used to use two cassettes for stereo and 1 for mono. Dynavector 10x5, Denon d160 and AT Mono 3 LP MC (which I bought to hear the Beatles in mono). I've never managed to get a Dynavector to sound good on a Technics table. Sounds great on my Music Hall 5.1 but not on Technics. The Denon DL 301 MK2 is a wholeโ€ฆ

The Denon DL-301MK2 cartridge is a great buy!

Over the years I've had high end turntable cartridges including the Grado as well as an earlier version of this Denon and I have to say that this 'new and improved' version really does it all is! Many products use this expression too loosely, but in this case it really applies. The bass reproduction is wonderful and full, but neither overshadows nor disturbs very clean, crisp highs or tight and full mids. We recently had a party and some of the guests are still amazed that I have a test. I putโ€ฆ

i just received this cartridge 5 days ago and i am very happy to join the cartridge club Join Moving Coil . Investing in a high end preamp with MM and MC phono inputs finally got me ready to take the plunge and I chose this one for a number of reasons. It has slightly higher performance than most low powered MC trolleys and is also quite pliable as the recommended needle pressure is 1.4 grams. Most of the reviews I've read commented on excellent tracking and surface noise reduction, and I canโ€ฆ

Excellent cartridge

Phenomenal cartridge, absolutely. For the cost, or lack thereof [compared to many moving coil carts] this is a bargain. Surface noise is heavily attenuated by the mysterious "special" diamond stylus (perhaps a line contact?), and a slight background hum becomes similar to reel-to-reel analogue tape hiss. In other words, surface noise becomes harmless on a great vinyl. In comparison, the 2M Blue from Ortofon, which is only a third (!) smaller, simply cannot handle noise and high-frequencyโ€ฆ

Unreliable and prone to crashes - a disappointing high-end response.

After 8 months of use this cartridge was defective. When the record was played, the stylus holder's elastomer failed and the stylus simply fell into the cartridge. It turns out that the manufacturer's warranty is only 90 days. The seller (Huppins) handed the responsibility over to Denon support and Denon helpfully suggested I buy a replacement. Well I'll have to do it, but of course never again anything Denon does. After using this cartridge for a month I have to lower my rating. My firstโ€ฆ

My first introduction to the moving coil cartridge. First, let me see that I've built a quality audio system over the years. McIntosh Amp, a McIntosh C47 preamp with an amazing built in phono stage supporting Bot MM and MC cartridges with all the necessary settings. Played via VPI Scout Player. Lately I've taken a liking to the excellent Ortofon 2M Black MM cartridge. Well, with the goal of building a second rig for our country house, I had the opportunity to purchase the exact same turntableโ€ฆ
