Oxygen Sensor Denso 2001 Tacoma

The O2 sensor on my 2001 Tacoma failed so I ordered this replacement. The replacement matched my stock sensor perfectly, but there were a few minor issues. The wire wrap is much thinner than the original and looks very flimsy. Also, the grommet that goes into the frame has a gap between the wires so it's not waterproof. I tied the grommet around the wires as tight as I could and then applied some silicone sealant to the gap. Not a big deal, but be aware it won't be waterproof.

Pros
  • Excellent Design

  • Some Difficulties

Denso Oxygen Sensor 234-4189

This sensor is used as "Original Equipment" in my 2003 Toyota Tacoma. If it's good enough for Toyota, it's good enough for me. I bought parts from Autozone and Advanced Auto Parts (AAP) when I realized I could always buy those parts from Revain. The main thing is to find out what part number you need. Go to your parts store and pretend to buy. Get a part number and check it out at Revain. I realized I saved $20 on this sensor. Over $80 at AAP and only $60 at Amazon. I desperately needed this…

Fits perfectly! best in sensors

This was my first experience of replacing an oxygen sensor. This part for my 2000 Toyota Tacoma arrived quickly, but with the nuts rusty and stripped, it took me a little more prep before I just went ahead and installed it. After a few YouTube videos, some rust remover, some dry chisel taps, and a socket wrench to pull the nuts out, I was thrilled that I successfully got the old one out. The new sensor fitted well and came with a new gasket and rubber bushing. I had to do a bit of tinkering…

  • hands free

Replacing the hood with a standard sensor

I gave 4 stars. All I know is that my check engine light has stopped working. The sensor itself is easy to install, but on my truck [a 2003 Toyota Tacoma] it's difficult to remove the old rusty nuts on the old sensor due to years of exposure to the elements under the truck at the tailpipe. My understanding is that this is a stock sensor. In my case I had to remove the passenger seat as the sensor runs into the cockpit from the outside of the car and the connector is under the passenger seat…

Pros
  • A lot of positive emotions
Cons
  • No performance
