The price does not bite

I bought a kit for my Tacoma 07 they work perfectly. I saved quite a bit of money by paying for the installation and programming.

Denso TPMS sensor for accessories and parts

I would rather not need this but the original sensor seal is defective causing air to leak out of the tire. Installation requires removing the tire, so installation is easy only if you have a tire changer. I passed this on to my shop who was able to install and program it for me and fix the leak problem.

Not suitable for steel rims 550-0104

original sensor on the right, new on the left in the attached picture, note the fixed angle of the valve stem. When attempting to install it on a 2008 Toyota Tacoma with steel rims, there was an air leak at the base of the valve stem due to the sensor not seating flush. I ended up rotating the sensor 180 degrees after pulling the tire into position to get the valve seated properly. This rotation causes the sensor to protrude inward from the rim, causing the tire to hit the sensor the next time…

Pros
  • replacement sensors
Cons
  • disappearing

My Tacoma 07 didn't fit the "Steel Wheels " list.

Ordered this for my 2007 Toyota Tacoma spare tire which is a steel wheel as the sensor died, did some research online and also cross referenced the Denso website and it is listed as "for steel wheels". . Pulled out the dead sensor and installed it, the angle of the sensor was completely different than the one I pulled out. I figured they might have installed the wrong sensor at the factory and installed the one I ordered anyway, all went fine but ended up leaking air at the base of the vapor…
