The top spinner is bolted to the base. It took me a while to figure out why it wasn't spinning. I was too careful and didn't tighten it tight enough. The top spinner has come loose from the screw that attaches to the base. It's ok, although it turns well and you don't have to screw the base every year, just mount the top and you're good to go. Pumpkins glow at the base. I gave four stars because the top spinner doesn't attach well to the top screw.

Unfortunately this item arrived with two defects. First one of the branches of the tree was broken off. We managed to reattach it with super glue but it's still a shame it arrived broken. Second, the three-branch tip will not shield the base of the trunk. I must have sat there forever trying to put it on. My dad finally looked at it and found that the screw was significantly larger than the hole it was supposed to fit. Since there was absolutely no way to fix it, we ended up sending it back.

This is a very beautiful item with many details. It lights up and rotates very nicely. I haven't had any problems with mine. I have a Halloween carnival village and it complements my display perfectly. It's every bit as good as any of my other Division 56 products. Same great quality and attention to detail. I got this piece when it was on sale but would pay more for it after seeing how smoothly it runs. I was a bit nervous about the purchase as several buyers had issues with the twist…

I collect Dept. 56 for many years. The now retired Spinning Pumpkins ride is my absolute favorite. I wanted another Halloween themed ride and based on the good reviews I chose this one.
