I've used it on my 8700k for great results. I was temperature limited 5

This product makes delivery very affordable. I've used it on my 8700k for great results. My temperature was capped at 5.1GHz (88C) and after the max temperature changed to 67C, ie a drop of 21C! It also allowed me to get the OS up to 5.2GHz with a maximum temperature of 77C.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Damaged

Great tool, not a plastic toy!

Well made, works great. They made the old 7700k unleaded and upgraded the "paste" to liquid metal. The 20C cooler runs at 51 and 104 BCLK (5.3GHz) and is (surprisingly) stable in 24 hour stress tests at 1.4V and a maximum temperature of 83C. X-Plane performs much better than the previous OC, only 4.8 GHz. Yes, with such tension, its life will be shortened, but next year it will be time to replace the 2017 installation - it's better to burn out than fade.

Well designed, simple process

I am writing this review from my already broken i7 7700K PC. plus a very, very quiet setup. Uses Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut (for heat spreader) and standard EVGA 280 CLC paste (for IHS exterior).

  • Easy to read control panel

Amazing Computers and Accessories

I was very hesitant to give up my processor (i7 7700k). I watched a lot of videos and read a lot about it, and it seemed to me that the Bauer Tool Mate 2 would be the best fit. Very easy to use and arrived in 3 days. My i7 7700k has been running very hot since day one, averaging between 40 and 100 degrees idling during Prime95 and other stress tests. The whole process was quick and easy using a tool, cleaning the silicon at the factory was time consuming but not difficult. Applying the Thermal…

Very simple and very well made

Works like a charm. High build quality and very low risk of damaging the processor (on this device). Extremely easy to use. Simply note the orientation of the IHS before removing it, thoroughly clean any old sealant, replace the factory TIM with the TIM of your choice and use a good quality silicone sealant when reinstalling the IHS. I used Permatex car sealant. If you decide to use a liquid metal TIM, be sure to seal the chip and coat the PCB with a conformal coating to avoid shorting out the…

Just used it yesterday and it works perfectly.

Just used it yesterday and it works as easy as the creator said on his YouTube channel. The 8700K was as easy as peeling a pear, and the mount is designed so there's no real risk of damaging your processor. The tool is well made to tight tolerances and the clamping mechanism and cap re-centering insert work properly. Well thought out and executed design!

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • Not bad

Better than Rocket 88

I first bought the Rocket 88 and it was warped but I didn't notice until I used it. I tried to fix it but the plastic was too hard. I returned it and the manufacturer, Rocket, short-circuited me on return because "strange that so many people return them after using them once". Yes, although I had a defect, I was obviously accused of violating Revain's return policy. So I asked Revain for a full refund which I received and then bought the der8auer. Much better than Rockey 88!

Two thumbs up! to internals

I have been using Delid Die Mate 2 from der8auer to clean my work CPU and it works great! It is well thought out from form to function. Everything from the delid to the IHS resealing went smoothly. Intel seems to be using quite a bit of sealant at IHS. I used a thermal grid between the processor and IHS. Loctite and IHS were used to seal the chips (1 small drop for each of the 4 high temperature corners). I then used Arctic Silver thermal paste between the IHS and the CPU fan. Unfortunately I…

It Just Works - Radiator

Please, for heaven's sake. If you take your CPU apart, don't buy those cheap 3D printed parts. Just bite the bullet, spend your money and get a quality product. The threads on this one are absolutely accurate and it makes the whole process a lot easier for us than it was when we had to carefully maneuver a razor blade under the IHS. I am so happy that Der8auer makes the products he makes. Using this along with Conductonaut Liquid Metal on-chip and Kryonaut as my regular thermal paste dropped…

Super easy to use and very well built.

Works exactly as advertised, my I7 7700K ran up to 100C and slowed down a little at stock speed. Looking back, I definitely got a bad application from the factory. I used that and after about 5 minutes I applied some Liquid Metal and now my temperatures rarely reach 80C under the same load at higher speeds. This was my first time sharing a CPU but it's very basic . A few tutorials on YouTube, this tool, a hard plastic card I used with an old credit card (to scrape off the old silicone), some…
