Happy Highlands in Tack

Rosie and Henrietta love their halters. Whilst these halters are not made specifically for the Scottish Highlands we have adjusted the sizes we ordered - both our 1 and 2 year olds wear bull sized halters.

Doesn't come close to fitting

Bought based on weight as per instructions. When I received the collar it was about 3 inches shorter. They were not larger in size. I would suggest selling by measure not by weight. I would be happy if it fits.

In the end I had to give this halter four stars.

In the end I had to give this halter four stars. In terms of quality, it's 5 stars; However, I bought this halter based on the description that it would fit a cow, although it doesn't really fit our 4 year old Jersey dairy cow.

maybe works? best in halters and leads

This is better than using a harness on a cow, but the nose piece will slip and dangle no matter how securely you fasten it. The rationale for purchasing this product was that it was better for the cow. It is not! Eventually had to remove it as its malfunction prevented my cow from eating.

Larger than expected

This is a good quality halter however other reviewers say it is much larger and the description is confusing. I bought a size small 250-500 pounds. for my 6 month old Holstein heifer. She is short for her breed. Probably 300 pounds. I have the buckle on the lowest setting and the pod is still slipping off the tip of her nose. I still use it because she will grow into it, but would like a smaller size.

I think they mean NewBorn in the sense that your cow has just given birth

Quality seems good. But like everyone says. There's no chance it was intended for a newborn. Maybe for a cow with a newborn, but certainly not for a calf. We had a one week old calf that we wanted to bottle feed and leave with the herd. It wouldn't work for little one year olds because they are so big. I keep them because they will grow. But if you're looking for a size for a newborn, this isn't it.
