Not good if your using it for water!

I would not recommend these shut off valve for water. I installed it on my New Bosch Mini electric water heater. Ran the hot water in the morning and it was brown for a few seconds. It happened daily until Iremoved and inspected the DERNORD shut off valve. Both values inside was corroded which I considered was the problem. I ran the water heater without the valve and no longer have the problem with the water being brown.

Pros
  • In use for a couple of months with compressed air, no leaks or problems, good price.
Cons
  • The brass material can be susceptible to corrosion and oxidation, particularly when exposed to harsh chemicals or salt water
