Decent Value: Parts

looks like decent quality. Easy installation. However, the lower part on the driver's side started cracking about a week after installation. Possibly a defective item that needs to be replaced again.

Pros
  • Excellent Construction
Cons
  • Big and Bulky

You get what you pay for: shocks, struts and suspension

Cheap price means cheap product I have used a Detroit axle on a larger 95 Tahoe before and they have been good. I bought some ball joints for my '98 Cherokee and threw away 2 sets in a year. I guess it hit or miss

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Nothing

Good Quality - Shocks, Struts & Suspension

Bought and installed these ball joints this week. Installed lower quality kit and had memory management issues due to poor design. These are much better, no problem. As for durability, we'll find out, I hope we'll live another 133,000 like the originals.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • No Performance

1997 4.0L Grand Cherokee

It wasn't much fun to install on Saturday but it was worth it on the tires. He wanted 7.0 degrees of camber on the Hunter's alignment post and his position was 6.5 degrees up so the inside would probably wear out a little quicker than the outside, but this is a raised Jeep so don't worry about that.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Quality at a fraction of the price

Very affordable fully lubricated kit. Renting an Autozone ball joint press and a simple adapter kit worked great. Be sure to lubricate them if the axle isn't in the way yet. Will fit a '98 XJ with 31" tires and 5" lift kit. About a month of daily riding with decent off road and camber, no issues at all. I'm glad I saved some money by buying the ones that cost 4x the price. I applied anti-seize to both the ball joint housing in the axle and the ball joint struts going to the steering knuckle to…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires bushing
