Description of 🚰 Improved Insulated Deuter Streamer Tube

Neoprene. This fleece lined flexible neoprene tube cover protects drink hoses from freezing in cold conditions. Universal fit works with most all drink system hoses. Conveniently zips on/off without having to remove drink hose.

Delayed freezing, but too expensive for a small profit.

At 4F (-16C) with little or no wind my tube was still freezing after 2 hours. Of course, this made the process longer, but for such a price I certainly expected a little more.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Doubtful

The nozzle was too short for my hose.

The grommet was too short for my hose and barely extended from the tip to the insertion point on my pack let alone where the hose connects to the tank. Because of this I had exposed 2 inches of tubing that had frozen at this point while camping in the snow.

Pros
  • Best in its niche

Best for sun protection Warming, not freezing

This isn't a miracle cure for cold weather, BUT on a hot, sunny day, it will save you that first sip you drink, burn your mouth, or just plain water to make it less than refreshingly cool. Drinking chamber hoses get hot with prolonged exposure to the sun, and this is an easy fix. It helps with freezing in slightly sub-zero temperatures, but not if you leave it for a few hours, the temperature drops well below freezing, or if you don't move for a long time. However, it is really ok to prevent…

Pros
  • Loads of positive vibes
Cons
  • Protection

Still frozen. Maybe I'm just in heavier conditions. I was snowshoeing on Christmas Eve and my reservoir hose froze. Installed and went out on New Year's Eve, it was warmer but my pipe froze from mouthpiece to pouch just as quickly as my partner's unprotected pipe. The temperature in both cases is between 20 and 0 degrees Fahrenheit. Day #1, very cold and no isolator = frozen tube. Day #2, not so cold and insulator = frozen tube. I don't know what to say, in my case the isolator is enough. to…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Hard to say
