🔩 Dewalt DW1956 Drill Pilot Set - 16 Pieces Review

This is a good bit set with HSS tips with golden iron oxide coating. They last a long time and include efficient guide tips for all but the smallest bits to minimize "walking" when you start drilling. However, the coating is not titanium nitride. Pilot points make sharpening difficult and are moderately aggressive bits that are difficult to control with a hand drill.

What can I say, this is DeWalt. The parts make a high-quality and durable impression. Bits work 1/2, 3/8, 5/16, 1/4, 7/32, 13/64, 3/16, 11/64, 5/32, 9/64, 1/8, 7/64, 3/32, 5/64 and two 1/16 in case you're clumsy like me and break one :) All in all a great bit set for the average user at a reasonable price. These drills are very well made and come in a nice carrying case. The design of the case makes it easy to insert bits (insert at an angle to the base of the holder, and then push the tip into the groove). All larger bits have an anti-slip notch, which is a nice feature. Works great with metal (aluminum, steel, stainless steel - all with no problems). Wood is fine too.
