DeWalt bits are generally nice and sharp when they come out of the box. Even if you pay more for cobalt, the lifespan varies. Some of them have retained their sharpness for hundreds of uses, while others appear to have dulled after a few uses. I've even had a few fail on first use in mild steel (not DeWalt!). Yes, I am using the correct speed and lubrication. Most likely, there is no quality control at the factory. On average, DeWalt beats seem to last longer than others. Too bad there is anβ¦
