This is a quality instrument. I've never experienced a thermal shutdown like some have complained, but I use it in my home business and not in a production environment. I have used this for cutting, sanding and polishing and enjoy it. Tightening the wave took a few minutes to figure out. I like the rotating guard, although it takes practice to get the spot right. My only concern is that the handle is often difficult to turn, especially when wearing gloves. I might be doing something wrong, butβ¦
Wow, I can't believe how something so simple could become such a problem. It turns out that the ALLEN WRENCH FITS IN 2 OF THE 4 HOLES IN THE WRENCH, that's all. Why didn't anyone else mention this? Especially Dewalt, why didn't they mention it in their manual? Of course there were a few hints in the reviews and questions, but they were all too vague. I finally took a good look at the flange nut and found it. Now that I said it, I don't care anyway. I always hand tighten the grinding wheels andβ¦

Need some more 4 inch grinders. I have an old reliable Milwaukee but the spindle lock is wearing out. I'm tired of constantly changing hard drives for different applications in the middle of a job. I chose the DWE4012 because I am very happy with the DeWalt products, the price was right and I wanted a damper switch instead of a latching switch like my Milwaukee. No, I am not blaming Milwaukee in any way or form, and I have Milwaukee tools and am very happy with them. Anyway I am very satisfiedβ¦
