I personally think they are good for what I do (weekend carpenter). I'm doing a small project around the house and when I need to gouge out a door crack or make a few adjustments to a woodworking project they work great. This is a great addition to a shop short of wooden chisels. You have saved me many times. However, the design is not optimal for many purposes. The handles are too close to the blade and very wide, often getting in the way when working at low angles.
