I personally think they are good for what I do (weekend carpenter). I'm doing a small project around the house and when I need to gouge out a door crack or make a few adjustments to a woodworking project they work great. They were sharp enough out of the box, I saved the plastic lids for them so they don't get scratched when they're in the desk drawer. Haven't tried sharpening them yet. So I can't say how well this process works.
