The basic process I followed for cutting involved: - using a water filled soda bottle with a small hole to automatically lubricate as you cut - then gluing to a piece of plywood with a drill sized hole to start cutting. - And apply a little force when cutting and rotate the drill bit slightly. I bought these to drill extra holes in my clay/ceramic/terracotta pots. They work very well when used properly. I've seen some reviews saying they wear out quickly, but I suspect water was never used as a lubricant/coolant with them. Friction generates heat, which leads to wear; That's why it's important to use water and not run the drill at high speed. That's what I do.
