I Drilled Granite: Power Tool Parts & Accessories

I am beyond impressed with these beats. I wasn't sure if he could drill into granite where the installer said his bits are $200 each and they can drill about 8 holes then they're dead. As you can see in the picture I was about able to Drill a 1" diameter hole in 5 minutes and it's a very clean hole for my drinking water faucet. If you're a DIYer, don't ask questions, do them.

Pros
  • Water must be used for cooling and lubrication to prolong service life.
Cons
  • I will add later

Decent bits, deep enough to drill through 3cm of granite.

It's surprisingly difficult to find diamond core bits deep enough to drill 3cm of granite slabs in one pass. These beats were deep enough, cheap enough, and good enough. This isn't professional level, but it will be helpful if you're a homeowner and only need it for a few projects. They sell suction cup guides for these types of bits but I don't think they…

Pros
  • Sizes: 6mm, 10mm, 16mm, 20mm, 25mm, 30mm
Cons
  • No Automatic

Very easy to make a perfect hole in a quartz countertop

I needed a 0.5" hole for a filtered faucet, that I wanted to install. My quartz countertop is 3cm high so I needed a hole saw deep enough to make this cut. at an angle until a small crescent is carved, then slowly move the cutting head until it is just above the surface. This worked great for me and saved me the time of having to cut the bracket out of wood and secure it in place like others do. It was a bit nerve wracking at first (worries about damaging an expensive countertop) but it was…

Pros
  • Orifice is clean, smooth, no broken edges, no shaking, shavings Easy
Cons
  • Can't remember
