, I have asked before if it can cut through 1 1/4 inch thick granite and it can. I used some tricks I found on YouTube to score the first circle, I put a board out of the faucet to let water run into the hole while I was drilling, I used a 300rpm drill bit and worked slowly, applying very light pressure, and took the drill. every few minutes to keep it cool. Get it right and it works like a charm.

My job was to drill 1 1/8" thick granite. I went to the supplier's website which had detailed instructions on how to do the job. One way is to make a template. I have a template made of clear plastic. Drill a 1/2" hole in the center. I took the protective sleeve that came with it and cut off one end with scissors. Then I glued it to the plastic.
