, I have asked before if it can cut through 1 1/4 inch thick granite and it can. I used some tricks I found on YouTube to score the first circle, I put a board out of the faucet to let water run into the hole while I was drilling, I used a 300rpm drill bit and worked slowly, applying very light pressure, and took the drill. every few minutes to keep it cool. It took about 20 minutes. The depth wasn't a problem because I poked about halfway out of the granite center with a screwdriver, which allowed me to continue working at the desired depth. This saved me from hiring a professional to do the work. I recommend it for granite if you have the patience to DIY and learn some tricks online first.
