Works 9.53 in car electronics

I saw another review that says it works on 9.53 even though it says it doesn't. The bell works, the buttons on the steering wheel work. aux works. All

Fits 05' RX8: Car & Vehicle Electronics

Pretty good product overall, it definitely works as intended, definitely way better than listening to the radio, the sound quality is pretty good especially when paired with Bose speakers is you install them. However, it takes some time to install the product, you have to disassemble the complete frontend, but in the end it's worth it, it should have been a bit cheaper, but it's pretty good.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction

  • Not sure

Works perfectly! - Changer

I installed this on a 2004 Mazda RX-8 (no Bose radio). It was plug and play. Also the steering wheel controls work to control my iPhone music apps. I haven't used the charging port or the six person port for more than a few minutes, but they seem to be working properly. The whole installation cost a little more than I wanted to pay but so far it has exceeded my expectations. I will update the review and rating if I run into any problems in the future.

Great plug-n-play experience

A great option for cars built after cassette decks went out of style but before additional audio inputs became the norm. I was able to install this fairly easily on my 2004 RX-8 (firmware version 9.55) in about 45 minutes. It literally just plugs in and works, no fuss, no fuss. I can also report that all the audio buttons on the steering wheel and console still work, and the fast forward and rewind buttons even work as forward and back buttons in my podcast app. Telephoning with the microphoneโ€ฆ

Great sound quality but stops working after about 28 minutes

After my first 10 minute ride with this adapter on my 2006 Mazda 3 I was ready to give a 5 star review. Audio quality over Bluetooth was crystal clear. It was only after a long commute to work that I discovered her main problem. After approximately 28 minutes of use, the radio will turn off. When you turn it back on, it plays for a few seconds and then crashes again. The radio can be switched to other modes, but returning to "CD" mode when audio is being streamed for this device will not workโ€ฆ

2005 RX8 v9.56 - Input volume, choose the right input

After hooking everything up I tested it and couldn't hear any sound through the AUX cable input and Bluetooth. I found that by default, Input 1 = Bluetooth (Input 2 = Aux). After figuring out how to switch inputs on my main unit (press 1 or 2 buttons) I was able to hear the music as intended. The input volume is quite low for the connected devices. If you want to keep the AM/FM and CD volume about the same, increase the input volume of your connected iPhone/iPod and then adjust it with theโ€ฆ

Very unreliable: Auto & Vehicle Electronics

Product works but does not play music/connection when car starts. The Bluetooth on my iPhone shows it's connected, but in order for the sound to actually play you have to disable Bluetooth on the phone and then reconnect. Sometimes when you are already playing music on your phone before you start the car properly and start playing music after about 8-13 seconds. This is random and only works about 1 out of 5 times. If you turn the key on the accessory and don't start right away, you'll have toโ€ฆ

Works well on 2004 Mazda6 with L716 Head Unit Mod

I have a 2004 Mazda6. The car didn't come with a factory aux connection so I added a previous CD changer connection lead to the adapter back in 2012. I wanted to upgrade to Bluetooth so I bought this one. It works and you can use the steering wheel and radio buttons to change lanes, which you can't do with the line jack. I did not use the line in on this adapter and its mic. I only use this for music. Update: After two months of use I'm reducing my rating from 5 stars to 3 due to the difficulty
