This cable works great. My ONLY criticism is that I think they should include a small piece of paper to advise those who don't already know to remove the plastic grommets and to remind people not to kink an optical line cable. (Otherwise I would give 5 stars. I bought it because my amp doesn't have HDMI ports available and my new TV doesn't have analog RCA ports for audio output. I was pleasantly surprised at the sound improvement with an optical connection.

At first glance the cable seemed to be of good quality but the connectors did not fit the device properly. Be careful when ordering. The round plastic housing behind the real metal part of the socket is very large and doesn't fit in my new soundbar or in my TV. I used a file to sand down the unwanted plastic so it could go deep enough. It works now, but the change was painful and I also risked screwing it up. I tried to use this cable in my LG Blu-ray player but the connector WILL NOT FIT. The cable connector housing seems to be too big for it. I happened to have another digital optical cable from a different manufacturer that fit and worked fine. I don't know if the cable is only compatible with some products, but it did NOT work for me. Based on the reviews I thought I was getting a decent quality product. Said 24k finish looks like the gold paint you get when you buy a can of 99 cent gold paint. I doubt it will make much of a difference since the paint is applied to cheap plastic. I spent 45 minutes plugging this junk into my TV, but the poor quality of the plug means it won't click into place. I was able to connect one end to the soundbar, but unlike any other optical cable I've ever used, it was a very weak connection. Save

I bought one of those 50ft Toslink fiber optic cables, plugged it in (yes I removed the plastic nipples) and got a very distorted sound. Plugged my old 10ft cable back in, sound came back. Thinking it was defective I sent it back and bought another one. This time I had no sound; Plugged my 10ft cable back in, had great sound. Did a little research. Guess what?
