Nice concept though. on Candy

I wanted it to work! I like this idea. But it doesn't work well. But not for making candy at home. The temperature sensor doesn't work very well in a thick spatula. Even with a hole for it, it still depended on the temperature difference at its tip, which was colder than a spatula and didn't heat up as quickly as real candy in a bowl. It was also a hassle trying to clean when there was candy/chocolate/etc. entered where the probe is located. It is a very small room that is not easy to get into.

Makes my annual holiday fudge making process easier - glad to have it

Great idea in theory and works great for fudge making this afternoon. I followed internet advice to make sure the thermometer was accurate by testing the boiling water first. The low altitude conditions were intended to be tested at 212 degrees Fahrenheit and have been tested correctly. I will now use it for my annual holiday fudge. My wishes for a better product would be. longer handle, more strength and a sense of security when the thermometer is connected to the handle at the end of the…

The thermometer didn't fit back into the spatula handle

This is a really good idea for making candy. It's a lot easier to check the temperature of the candy while you're stirring it than trying to hold a glass thermometer or tape it to the rim of the pan, because that will never work. I used it today to make toffees. I pulled the metal part out a bit thinking it wouldn't work, but I screwed up and put too much water in it so it took too long to get to the right temperature. Anyway, I added more butter and sugar, brought it to the right temperature…

Comfortable but some silly design flaws.

Purchased specifically for making candies and tempering chocolate. Exceptionally comfortable. Brilliant though. However, I used it twice and noticed the following: The pen got too hot. I had to hold it with an oven mitt to stir the caramel on the stove. The thermometer probe is removed from the handle for cleaning and the metal passes through the entire handle to the digital reader at the top. I have two problems with it: 1. It's not waterproof. There is a tiny hole in the digital reader part…
