Photos taken right out of the box when I saw the tips were bent like they had been dropped and the alignment was offset by 1.75mm . More than 6 5/8 inches long they are not worth trying to shape. Maybe that's not a big deal for a big builder, but when you're making small pieces for jewelry, that's a big mistake. Don't waste your money, spend a little more for better gear.

Poorly machined caliper. They are made from raw steel and coated only with oil to keep them from rusting. I have rust in several places. When I try to open the caliper, it's surprisingly stiff. I believe an 8th grade store could produce a better product. The points do not meet when closed. The tips wore out so quickly that the tips turned blue. There are clear pitting marks everywhere

I bought this expecting what I got which is a fairly cheap divider set. They are difficult for me to use because of the geometry of the points. In the pair I got the tips aren't exactly "pointed" and when you put the tips on a piece of wood the tips tend to ride on the side, not the tips. The edges are not particularly sharp. I might be able to get them working for my purposes if I spend some time polishing the points to change the geometry. It was a cheap experiment that could probably be made
