I had a good quality 3/8 inch air compressor hose. It had a hole about 3 inches from where it connected to my compressor. I was about to throw it away as a leaky high pressure hose isn't worth the risk. Then I discovered this little beauty. I cut off 6 inches of my rubber tubing with a razor blade and cleaned the hole. I have a hose reel in my garage and it would be impossible (for me) to replace the hose without replacing the entire reel. The hose snapped at the end just before the fitting so it was VERY easy to fix with this fitting. I simply cut off the end in front of the crack and installed this fitting.
