Works best in computers and accessories

I used it to upgrade my 3D printer. It worked right away. The one ordered with the upgrade was not recognized by the laptop.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Annoying

Working, not plug and play (Warning Windows users!)

This USB ASP is working and I couldn't find any fault. It comes in a cardboard box wrapped in a plastic bag with everything inside. It's craft-tastic, open and easy to use. It's not entirely easy to use, but this isn't the place to go into detail. Using it incorrectly, especially on Windows, also requires some work. Check out Gandau's article "Installing USBASP on Windows 10" on Instructable. So don't get upset. Tip: When connecting, mark the port, because if you use a different one, the…

Firmware update required

They work fine if you update the firmware on them. Figuring out how to do this was interesting and required an Arduino to flash, which was primarily the purpose of buying them.

  • So-so

Done works on my MacBook Pro (Big Sur)

Maybe this is my new programmer. I have a USBTiny for ATtiny chip programming which allows me to plug the chip into a socket and program it, but for all other chips this works fine. I usually use an Arduino Uno with "Arduino as ISP". This works well but requires a lot of wiring. If you're using a microcontroller with Arduino IDE and on-chip bootloader, you don't need this programmer. The Arduino IDE defaults to using the serial port and bootloader when you press the upload button. If you use…

Works great for single board computers

Works great for ATTiny85 programming. This product comes with a female adapter/cable. I had to make an adapter for the breadboard but for me it wasn't a big problem. I simply twisted the female cord into pins that ran down the center of the breadboard. I downloaded the drivers whose links are provided on the product page. Installed with no problems. The Arduino allowed me to program the tiny AT with a programmer. I think the USBasp programmer is built in. Either I already installed it or it was

Good programmer but with short cable and old firmware

This programmer was just what I needed to upgrade my 8-bit 3D printer's motherboard. The product listing on Revain has links to the necessary drivers for Windows, so it was easy to follow these instructions to get the adapter working. Once installed, the programmer worked perfectly with the Arduino IDE and Avrdude software. The adapter had an older version of the USBasp firmware preinstalled, so avrdude generated a few "sclk" warnings, but still finished programming without problems. Please…

Still trying to get it to work

Very good value. Received quickly and was able to establish basic power communication with my CAN I/I board. However, my CAN board wasn't accepting any commands for some reason.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Hard to say
