Docooler® Handlebar Extension Extender Speedometer Review

A well made item that does not work. It is designed for very large diameter handlebars and no spacers are supplied. The extension is too small. The flashlight I recently bought from Revain doesn't even attach to the extension with the two rubber grommets that came with it. I don't mind tweaking products to make them work, but that's nowhere near. This will be my first returned item.

I have two other brands that are similar, one has one clamp and the handlebar is 1" shorter, one has two clamps and a longer handlebar and I use them on a straight bar hybrid bike. The only negative is that there are no rubber rings to insert between two metals. I saw someone else posted this so I knew and can use other things. Works great on road bikes for computers, daylight and small Bluetooth speakers.

When I received the package and realized how easy it was, I was a little apprehensive. It turned out to be very strong and very well made. I chose this one because it has two clips that allow me to mount the light right in the middle of my bike. Aesthetics are important to me. Holds up very well, no movement. I took it to the trail with the lights plugged in and had no issues.

Originally wanted to return this product as many other people have stated it doesn't fit fully when installed, probably less than 1mm off. I used a washer on each side of the bracket and that fixed the problem. I put a loop of tape on the handlebars where the mount will be to keep it from slipping (and to keep the brace from scratching my bike), but it's not necessary. I love this handlebar extension! It was simple and easy to install and is actually very strong once bolted down. When I ordered it I was concerned that it would be a little thin. Far from it! Very impressive. If I were to change anything about it, it would be the handlebar length. There is enough space for a lamp and a computer. If it was an inch longer I could fit my GoPro. Wasn't sure I would keep this after finding a larger diameter mount for my headlight. I was very happy with the fit and finish of the product so I decided to keep it for myself. I cut an old bike inner tube and made strips of rubber between the handlebars and clamps. This keeps the clamps from moving and also means you don't have to torque the bolts with enough to damage the aluminum bracket. A friend needed an extra headlight for his e-bike as the built-in one is quite weak. I got that for him and headlights too. It attaches easily and stays in place well. Keeps the light stable and has enough space for another light source or other accessories. It doesn't look like it will hold really heavy things without shifting, but it stays in place well with the small light I have.
