I really wanted this collar to work on my very smart Akita Malinois mix. I made sure it was positioned correctly and adjusted to the correct height every time I put it on. However, it took him 2 weeks to figure out how to get around this and keep barking. However, they lasted longer than the cheap ones, he sorted them out in a day. Thank you to everyone who responded to my question about the long collar length with suggestions for trimming or tucking. FYI, I haven't used it so I can't rate its performance. My concern is that nowhere in the instructions does it say to trim the excess length. I don't want to do that as it will void the warranty. I bought this for my black lab who weighs about 60 pounds. She is trained off a leash with an e-collar. I only put the E collar on her when we're outside, so that seems like a good solution to keep her from barking inside. I've had this for a week now and it's been working great so far. I've only had to use it 4 times and after the first 4 fixes my separation prone dog is no longer yelling or howling in his cage let alone hurting himself. I noticed that the collar isn't compatible with fixes - meaning it will howl and bark, get fixed and then immediately go on howling or barking.
