Worked great on my 81 Zephyr and Granada

I have a 1981 Mercury Zephyr. He said it wouldn't work but he continued by cutting out the old rivets on the machine. Perfect with a little mod.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Check your measurements!

FYI, bolt centers are NOT 2-1/2. CC measures 2-3/8, could be closer to 2-1/4. I ordered this item based on the advertised "2.5" screw spacing. I'm so stupid. Now I need to lengthen the screw holes in the rubber washer. Otherwise the product corresponds to the declared.

Pros
  • Multiple competitors
Cons
  • Useless features

Universal fit helped but didn't completely solve my problem

The art of this device helped but the rubber washer was too big compared to my old one so I had to go to an auto parts store and fit the rubber washer with it another kit and between them I reassembled my truck. Who knew finding the right part for a 1989 Chevrolet half-ton pickup could be so difficult?

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No power

Works on a 1968 Ford F250

Used to replace a broken clutch on my 1968 Ford F250. It was a direct replacement and it took me about 45 minutes to remove the old one and install the new one. Two 1/2" crescent wrenches and a vise. The threads are a little short for the lock washers and nuts, but you really should use lock washers and with a little patience I got them all fitted properly.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Nice part and very good price.

Good replacement. The original was a denser material that became brittle and fell apart. It's been 28 years, so it's a long time. The Dorman coupling (rag joint) is made of a much softer material, so the steering feels a little worse. As I don't intend to drive the car as hard as I did in the early days, that won't be a problem. It was pretty easy to install. Just pay attention to how it parses and you'll be fine. Oh, and you can't beat the price.

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
