Dorman 38510 Tailgate Cable: Sturdy, Reliable, and Efficient Review

I installed them on my 08 Silverado 3500hd. The fit was perfect, the cables have been routed and are now lasting 5 months. Don't go to a GM dealership or auto parts store, you'll pay twice. As always, Raven is great.

Bought these for my 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT. They are supplied as 1 cable and 1 screw. I recommend using the factory ones if possible as I ordered 2 sets and both of the screws that come with the new cables were broken. Plus, they look good because they're new and do what they're designed to do.

The cable itself is fine, but the way it is attached is not. They only give a bolt and no nut so I'm assuming it has to cut into the metal of my tailgate. The thread size is too small and the screw was loose and eventually fell out. I had to replace the bolt and washer combination with my own bolts, washers, nuts and lock washers. Now it's going nowhere! Once I've solved this problem, it works great, fits well and is very sturdy.
