🧊 Dorman Coolant Reservoir Bottle 603-101, White Review

Defective mold for this tank. There is a gap at the bottom of the part that leaks horribly. Buy if needed, but be aware that it will need to be repaired somehow before it can accept coolant. I bought it in November 2020.

Perfect fit for an '83 remodeled van. Easily replaced with an old cracked one, however after adding coolant it revealed a pin sized hole in the seam at the bottom. Very unfortunate that the coolant leaked all over my street. Dorman is generally a reliable manufacturer so I believe this was a fluke.

As others have said this is the closest thing to an original CUCV overflow bottle. The mounting tab needs to be drilled for the bracket screw, and you can cut the corner part of the tab to match the shape of the original. The new tab isn't flat like the original, but it still fits. For easier installation, remove the bracket from the body to remove the old bottle. The new bottle has a metal (brass?) insert in the overflow tube like the original for added durability.
