EIGHT people should throw out the thermostat!

Throw it away. It won't open if it should get stuck in the open position! I didn't see that when ordering. I looked at the thermostat and thought it was GREAT because a lot of forums said to do it NOW because it's MUCH EASIER! SO TRUE! My temp never goes above 130F and water flows through the radiator from the first second! Screws are ok. seals too. RUBBER face seals are the best. Thermostat - GARBAGE!

Pros
  • Sturdy design
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Good quality gaskets, but screws can break.

Gaskets are decent quality and should hold up well, but screws can break when tightened. I had to pull out the intake and rear one broken bolt and then reassemble with original MOPAR bolts. If I were to do this job again I would use Felpro gaskets and MOPAR bolts. About $25 more but the peace of mind is worth it. Also, do not use the supplied thermostat. Doesn't always open at the right temperature. Go with a $7 booth.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

You get what you pay for

Just finished installing this kit on my RAM 5.2 First take the thermostat and toss it straight in the bin. I foolishly decided to install mine despite other reviews here and guess what happened? Yes, I had to yank it back because it was stuck open. The screws provided are weak and torque only and will break, so be careful. The included pads seem fine and are holding up so far. This is a Chinese product, need I say more?

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Expensive

A great set at a reasonable price.

Fits directly onto my 1993 318/5.2 Magnum engine. Contains everything you need to replace seals. The seals between the intake manifold and cylinder head are of high quality, sufficiently thick and well pressed. The drain pan gasket is again solid, metal core and high quality. Everything looked the same as in the picture. I recommend replacing the water cap and updating the clamps at the same time. Bolts succumb. They felt like they gave out 5-10 feet earlier than they should. But I haven't had…

Inlet head gaskets appear to be of good quality

I have used this replacing a steel outlet cap with an aluminum plate, the outlet gasket, inlet and head gaskets appear to be of good quality. All screws worked well, none broke and the drain cover screws were coated with threadlocker. Three stars because the header gaskets were too thick and the header couldn't fit on the heads without over tightening the bolts and that could break them so I just used a thick silicone bead. The throttle body gasket was unusable, it was too thin and eventually…

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Not all will fit

Great set but look out for that thermostat

Great set! It comes with everything you need. It included a few things I didn't know I would need, such as an o-ring for the heater core tube. It's an inexpensive package and it's a complete package. I give 4 stars because of the thermostat. The built-in thermostat is not good. Someone else mentioned not opening up to them and I had a similar experience. This is an odd thermostat and it doesn't open like the others. I got a new thermostat from Autozone and tested both in a pot of water. The…

Pros
  • Decent performance

  • Good but not great

After 4 more attempts this. KIT TO GET

If you're repairing a standard Magnum 5.9 intake manifold leak, this is the kit you need. I've done this job 4 times, experimenting with different parts from different manufacturers (Dodge, Dorman, Edlebrock, Fel-Pro, Hughes, etc.) so trust me: don't buy cork end seals (yes, I know you have to have them clean completely first) and do not use fiberglass (garlock) connector seals. the one that seems definitive) I didn't use the pressure chamber seal at all. I used transfer punches to mark the…
