This is a worthy Y-tube replacement. We tried the plastic insert sold here at Revain but it failed after a few months. I couldn't work fast so I removed it and used without it. It works great without a fast connection. It should be emphasized that there are two parts here: the heating flow and the return.

Heater hose Y-connector for heater core leaked for the second time and I was fed up with Dodge (Mopar) plastic parts so I decided to look for a stronger component and found this replacement. They were cheaper than OEM parts and easy to repair. If it's leaking, simply purchase and cut off a piece of tubing and replace. saves me a lot of money.

. They go straight in place of the original equipment. Replacing hoses in hard-to-reach places is always a chore, but these Dorman assemblies fit together perfectly and you don't have to struggle to fit them into place. And you can get both sets of hoses going in and out of the pump/thermostat for less than a single junk plastic replacement from another source.

Some time ago I gave this hose package 4 stars. It's 3 stars now because after almost 7,000 miles the cheap plastic part of the connector assembly broke on the track. The original didn't even leak, but after 130,000 miles on the van I figured replacing it would prevent what happened. Instead of a plastic connector I attached a piece of silicone heating hose and 2 clamps. Until the aluminum Y-connectors and hoses fail.

Replaced a 6 month old (revain purchased) Gates solution with this because it started leaking earlier this week. In this way, the installation hose could be pushed further down and put in place more easily. 10 minutes and the engine is running! With a metal Y instead of plastic I assume it will last longer. Nobody makes a strong enough quick connect in these assemblies? The answer seems to be "no". I thought I made a wise decision in choosing this product.
