Dorman 645-512 Blower Motor Resistor Harness: Compatibility with Select Models for Enhanced Performance Review

Fan motor stops working intermittently. Defective plug, bad connection. Check this BEFORE throwing the fan motor in your car.

Works as expected, soldered and shrink wrapped as I don't trust mechanical connections. The original Ford unit failed so I wonder how it will hold up as the connectors look the same and the original gets hot and burns out.

Although it says it won't fit my 2011 Ford Fusion, it will definitely fit. The wires aren't labeled like vehicles as the wires are all grey, but it's not hard to tell what goes where. Quite long and easy to trim. Worked great for what I needed and I recommend it without hesitation and at the best price.

I have a 2010 Fusion SEL with dual temperature controls and it fits great. I'm only giving 4 stars because it doesn't come with colored wires or at least a chart showing which color corresponds to which letter. We had time because we didn't pay attention to it when removing the old one. I wish someone would post a color code/letter chart to help the rest of us.

Great replacement for the original plug. I noticed that most of the wires on the original connector are 12g and all the Dorman wires are 14g. The original "C" wire is thinner, but that shouldn't be a problem. The wires are very long. You can halve them and still have a good amount of wiggle room. The included crimp connectors are a nice touch. I don't have a heat gun so I used a butane lighter to crimp the ends.

All my problems solved. All summer I suffered with a fan. Perfect timing for my air conditioner to fail, right? I replaced the resistor, fan motor and wiring to the resistor. At first I was a bit worried because it still didn't work, but then I checked the under hood fuses again to find a blown fuse. Blower motor fuse blown before it stalled. Everything worked like clockwork, lasted until the end of summer and autumn, and was greatly intensified by winter. I will update if so.

I bought this wiring harness because the factory wiring harness had a slightly melted connector due to the first generation fan motor drawing too much current. I replaced the fan motor and fan motor resistor last year and my heating and air conditioning still cut out for me.
