My 2006 Altima is ready to run

2006 Nissan Altima SL 2.5 engine. Suitable for replacement, all mounting bolts/holes on the part itself match the engine. The cat on the underside is approximately 1" longer than the OEM, allowing the exhaust/flex pipe to hang slightly lower than before. Also, the holes on the original heat shields didn't line up exactly with the screw holes on the part. A 1/4" drill bit solves this problem. There are two O2 sensor ports on this thing, but there was a male connector for the bottom O2 sensorโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Sealed for long runs

Ok replacement, requires some heat shield modifications

As other reviewers have said, it fits, but will likely require some heat shield modifications. 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5L Had to remove the serpentine belt and remove the alternator. Reused the top O2 sensor. I also modified the stock front heat shield with a dremel (extended the holes in the sheet metal) and attached everything including the O2 sensor before bolting it to the engine. I left the head bolts a bit loose while I tightened the bolts that connect the Dorman to the downstream catalyticโ€ฆ

Will fit after a little "persuasion "

This converter was purchased for a 2006 Nissan Altima 2.5S. A BT02-Plug O2 connector from Berk Technology was also required for the installation. There were 2 oxygen sensor connections on the converter but only one on the OEM converter. (You need a plug to cover the bottom port) The price was good compared to OEM and local auto repair shops. I found that the accessory belt and alternator had to be partially removed to allow enough room to remove the OEM converter and install the Dormanโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Thorough quality control has been performed to ensure this part meets product standards.
Cons
  • Cable shorter than other parts

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DO IT YOURSELF!

I installed this myself on a 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5L 4cyl with 178,000 miles. After reading reviews and doing a lot of research to make sure I was buying the right part, I settled on this particular Dorman model. The second plug was actually included with the product and although I had already received it as a precaution, it was never needed. I can tell you that you will need to tighten the one that comes with it as mine was very loose. I used the heat shield that came with the kit and madeโ€ฆ
