Review on πŸš— Dorman 674-959 Exhaust Manifold with Integrated Catalytic Converter - Non-CARB Compliant Solution for Improved Vehicle Performance by Raymond Simmons

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Will fit after a little "persuasion "

This converter was purchased for a 2006 Nissan Altima 2.5S. A BT02-Plug O2 connector from Berk Technology was also required for the installation. There were 2 oxygen sensor connections on the converter but only one on the OEM converter. (You need a plug to cover the bottom port) The price was good compared to OEM and local auto repair shops. I found that the accessory belt and alternator had to be partially removed to allow enough room to remove the OEM converter and install the Dorman converter. The box had all the parts except for the plug. The rear heat shield was included, but it took metal snips and a hammer to shape it to clear the coolant line behind the exhaust manifold. The front OEM heat shields were reused but the mounting holes had to be cut in several places to fit the new converter. Smoke was visible for about 5 minutes upon launch, which dissipated over time. Overall it was a good cost saving, but problems with installing the thermal protection added to the installation time. The installation took 4 hours in total.

Pros
  • Thorough quality control has been performed to ensure this part meets product standards.
Cons
  • Cable shorter than other parts
