I bought this to replace a broken OEM unit. Works like clockwork. Smoother, faster and more powerful than a Ford unit. Update 2. The company really stands behind their product. As soon as I contacted Dorman they quickly sent a replacement. The new unit works even better than the previous addendum: I have a broken block. The cable is tangled in the bike. I would like the manufacturer/seller to contact you for a replacement under warranty. Easy replacement if you have basic auto repair skills. Works on same speed as OEM in my car.Some people have commented that it is very slow.I'm not sure if their car was faulty

The alignment hole for the engine mount was slightly offset so I had to enlarge the hole in the door to keep the mechanism from binding . The package included an adapter with instructions for cars built before August 2005 to change the polarity of the switch. something I wasn't expecting but it only took me a minute to grasp and comprehend. Works great, the instructions on the Dorman website are good and with pictures but the one that came with the kit doesn't have it. The hardest part was removing the bolts, speaker and panel from the door, actually the installation was very easy. I'm not a car enthusiast, I've only changed oil and air filters and such, and it was pretty easy for me, in just a few hours. The product was delivered in record time and it was easy enough to replace the old broken unit. Works but only approx. 1-1.5 years. Over the past year, Dorman has significantly changed the design of its power windows. IMHO the design and build quality are a lot cheaper, they've gone from riveted metal joints to spot welding, the metal is noticeably thinner and the motor is 1/2 smaller. Yes, I know none of this can compromise quality or functionality, but if you have a two-year-old Dorman regulator and compare it to a new one, you'll immediately notice the design changes. A bit disappointing that you can't buy it ONLY as an assembly without the motor, but at this price point it's not a sore point. The Dorman window regulator appears to be a higher quality unit than the original - the cables are more sleeved and the fit was perfect.
