🔌 Efficient Dorman 742-150 Power Window Motor for Select Models in Sleek Black Design Review

These motors replaced the factory motors in my 1989 Camaro with no installation problems whatsoever. It was actually difficult getting the old ones out and putting the new ones in, but it's GM's fault, this product is excellent. My windows now go up and down on purpose!

Engine worked great, an old mounting plate from the original engine had to be used. Which was easy, just slowly drill out the old rivets. The reason I had to use an old mounting plate is that the one that came with this motor doesn't have threaded slots to mount the motor to the door. You will also need a couple of washers as the supplied screws for attaching the mounting plate to the motor are too small for the pre-drilled holes. Otherwise it's been working great for about a month now.

Motor runs. GM not only has a major installation problem, but also a design problem. The mounting bracket that comes with the motor does not have threaded mounting holes, making it unusable. Comes with two sizes of screws to mount the motor to the bracket. 4 of these are too big for the holes and the other 4 go through the bracket holes. Works great all parts were included, as a tip for those looking to replace the lift motor make sure you have a drill with multiple bits of different sizes from small to small big. You will need to drill out the factory rivets. And don't be afraid to drill large holes in the door itself to help you install the new motor. Just don't drill into the motor or the mounting plate. For my 3rd gen Camaro the included screws and brackets are useless. Just use the motor, buy some 3/4" long 8-32 bolts and get 6 pack 8-32 nylock nuts. Take some JB Weld or whatever epoxy you prefer and pour on epoxy the nuts on the back of the power window to make the installation easier and you won't cut your hands installing it, watch some youtube videos and only drill the 3 required access holes to be able to drill the 3 rivets, necessary to remove the old motor.Let the epoxy cure overnight…
