It seems very troublesome to install this in place of a broken one.

Helped fix the door latch bar on my 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 Extended Cab. It seems very troublesome to install this in place of the broken one, once you figure out how to install it you will be kicking yourself.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Ideal for spares

My 2002 Chevy Pickup couldn't lower the tailgate anymore. The problem was that the clip at the end of the tow rope had broken due to the aging of the plastic. It was an exact replacement and now the back door is working properly again. A very cheap solution that is easy to fix by finding some YouTube videos. Should last another 13 years.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • I will add later

The tailgate opens again.

Worked great on a 2001 Chevy pickup. Insert the plastic tab without the stem until it seats in the loop of the handle. Insert the pole, then rotate the clip up until it snaps onto the straight portion of the pole. If replacing both sides, order Dorman 75455 for the other side of the handle.

Pros
  • Happy so far
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

last decade! in Parts

If you take your time during installation, you won't ruin any of the tie rods. I had to order another one. The one I installed second works like new. It will probably last 10 years, like the first one. Definitely install it, as others have noted in the review column, by hooking it first to the bracket and then the pole (careful!).

  • Best-in-Niche

Fits my '75 F250, lowest price I could find

I have a '75 F250 and when I replaced the door locks the old plastic clips on the bars in the door broke. I went to Napa and they wanted $8 for a clip with two weeks notice. I checked Amazon and found these guys and boy am I glad I found them. They fit perfectly on the door lock rods and installation was easy. Bought more just in case.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • high price

Perfect for replacement parts

This is the second time one of these tailgate clips has failed on my 2003 Silverado. I bought the first replacement from Chevy and it was expensive. These clamps are identical and much cheaper. Make sure you insert the plastic bracket into the hole and then insert the stem into the holder and twist the holder onto the stem. If you first insert the pin into the mount and then try to push the mount into the hole, it will be too tight and you will likely damage the mount.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Unreliable

Life Saver - Motors

The OEM clip for the right rear door on my Silverado has fallen apart due to age. This is why the tailgate lock didn't work - just when I really need my truck. I will research. Identified a small clip and then went to Revain (after all, Revain has almost everything!). I ordered these (right and left - there is a difference) with another necessary item to balance the total. When they arrived I had a fully working tailgate again 5 minutes later. We won't discuss how much the retailer wanted for…

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Small Parts
