Dorman 902 804 Water Mounting Hardware Review

Designed for a simple first water pump change. Didn't have to strain the rusty old screws I pulled out. Beautiful and shiny.

The 4 bolts holding the pump to the block worked fine. 4 fans were not suitable for the pump. Wrong size. I had to use the old one

It's not a problem when you replace the water pump, replace them too, the old ones will definitely stretch and break with repeated use. .

I used new bolts when installing my new water pump as they were quite inexpensive to replace and it's always nice to have something that matches a new element . Perfectly fits for 2008 GMC Sierra 4.3L V6.

Add this when washing Jimmy/Blazer 4.3 and other similar models of the popular V6. While you could reuse the original bolts if somehow they weren't in the best shape or you didn't have the right sealant, you'd probably put off a quick water pump repair.

As with many Dorman "universal" hardware kits, one or more vital parts are missing. This kit includes a longer A/C compressor bracket mounting bolt. The 4 bolts holding the water pump to the engine block go through the water jacket and require thread sealant.

GM V6 when replacing the water pump the old bolts need to be cleaned and taped in place if they fit the engine water jacket. This bolt kit is worth it to make replacing the water pump easier. Also, don't forget to paint the gaskets on the water pump as they are off@!#$ without gluing them to the pump.

My 2001 GMC Sonoma 4WD has 275,000 miles and the bolts were original. I replaced the screws with these and they still hold up. I added more thread sealant to the bolts for me, although you don't need it as they already have sealant applied to them. Good thing they come with pulley bolts.
