Perfect fit and easy to assemble for 2001 Toyota Tacoma. If you need to replace the cable, replace the latch. Lightweight, inexpensive and worth it for peace of mind.

Took an hour to install including replacing the hood latch mechanism. This is easy to do, but the best way to do it is to attach a wire to the old one, thread it into the truck, and then thread the new wire back in with the wire specified.

This was the perfect OEM replacement for my hood release cable and comes with a new lever. You can remove the new lever if your old one is in good condition, but it's a good idea to have one just in case. At the same time, the rusty hood latch was replaced.

I had a problem with the Toyota Tacoma bonnet latch for several years and postponed it as it seemed difficult to replace. My mistake as the cable fit perfectly and had it. 30 minutes changed. Now it works like new.
