I don't know what the original switch in the car looked like as it was broken when the car was bought but this one is backlit and reflecting off the windshield, which is annoying but I'm used to it. works perfectly. This fixed my problem with flashing signal lights and now the "ringing" for the signal lights is louder than before, I can barely hear it.

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • The packaging is ugly

Didn't work properly

Bought to replace an OEM part that was intermittently failing in my 2000 Impala. On the new one, the turn signals and hazard warning lights worked with the key in the "on" position, but as soon as I started the engine the interval between flashing lights increased to a good five seconds, which is too long for safety. I bought a more expensive OEM version, everything worked. I don't know if that's a design flaw or I just got a bad one.

Works as expected for a while.

The switch was easy to install and has worked flawlessly so far. I was surprised that there is a lamp in the switch that illuminates at night and flashes when the turn signals/emergency lights are on. The original switch does not. I'm updating this review as the new Switch failed after less than two years. Now my brake lights don't work and the rear emergency lights don't flash. If you hold the alarm fully with your finger, the alarm is working properly. I ordered an OEM part and now have to…

There are some issues, but the issue is resolved.

I'm giving 3 stars because it solved the problem I originally bought it for. My turn signals happened to not work and you had to toggle the hazard button on and off to get them working again. Apparently this is a common problem with the 00-05 Impala and this switch actually solved it. However, the processing quality here does not quite match that of the OEM. The part just feels cheaper, and the key actuation is a bit "sticky". . What's even more annoying is that the backlight shines very…

Short chassis life

UPDATED 5/15/2015: The product worked fine for 2 years and then broke down. I downgraded it to 2 stars (from the original 4). Original Review; This product is a good replacement for the kill switch that failed on my 2003 Impala. My turn signals went out intermittently and I got tired of hitting the kill switch to get them working again so I replaced it with this part. I would give it 5 stars but the cap doesn't seem to be as tight as the original switch but no one will notice except the person…

  • Absolutely amazing!

  • Minor Maintainability
