The time will show!

The product was fairly easy to install with no problems other than tightening the plug. I don't know what size it is so I had to use pliers to tighten the cork. The manufacturer must specify the size of the wrench used to tighten the plug. Only time will tell with the weather in Southern California if there will be an expansion leak as someone mentioned. Seems to be a good product apart from the lack of a key size.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Some flaws

Great concept, only 1 edition!

The EZ oil drain plug works great, the only problem is the swivel head is larger than the hex head it bolts onto. You'll need an open ended wrench or an adjustable wrench to install it, which isn't ideal. The entire assembly is aluminum, so heat could be a factor in the future when dissimilar metals are used. I wouldn't recommend it for a car with a drain plug that points straight down, if it's on the side or at an angle it should work fine.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • unreliable

Important! The instructions are wrong!

The instructions say "the extended position is the closed position". That is not right! The contracted position is the closed position. I'm curious how many people poured their fresh oil right through the engine and onto the floor because of this. This is dangerous! Imagine if you spilled all the oil when filling up a car. If the user didn't know this, they could start the car without knowing that all the oil would have spilled back onto the ground and destroyed the engine!

Pros
  • Doping πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Cargo

I mean yes it's easy and seems to work pretty well but why?

Okay, I'll say right away that the reason I gave it 3 stars is probably operator error. I dressed this bad guy during an oil change, filled up and started rolling off the ramp and leveling him to complete the level. When I pulled the stick out, she wasn't even reading anything. I look in and this thing sprang up and covered my entire driveway in oil. I reached under the handle and shut it (no tools as advertised!) and as I did it dawned on me that maybe I hadn't tightened it all the way. So I'm

4 stars to 1. Factory plug reinstalled.

Fits my 2004 WJ 4.7, no leaks. I love this drain. No more tossing the drain plug in the sump or replacing the plug gasket/washer. The gasket that came with the kit was a bit loose - its inside diameter was larger than the diameter of the drain, which I would like, but it doesn't leak. I only docked one sprocket because the spring and detent that holds it closed is a bit flimsy and makes me a little nervous. I would like a stiffer spring or at least a deeper lock. And even better both. If it…

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Crumpled
